A pioneer Bougainvillie leader and one of PNGs founding father is ready to come out of political retirement and assist Bougainvillie in its final steps towards independence.
Dr. John Momis said the period leading up to 2027 is the last leg of the political journey and must be guided well.

The former Bougainville President is set to contest the Bougainvillie Regional Seat in the coming election, currently occupied by Peter Tsiamallili.
Dr. Momis who’s in his 80’s told NBC Radio that with his experience, he still has a lot to offer, in terms of guiding Bougainvillie in its crucial final steps.
He said the Referendum achieved a lot for the people, and Bougainville now has the last bridge to cross over.
He said he wants to work with the current Autonomous Bougainville Government and called for unity as consultations continue with the National Government.
