Police Reservists Challenged Not To Infringe On Rights

Members of the Reserve Branch of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary have been urged not to infringe or breach the constitutional rights of citizens.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Donald Yamasombi made this remark when he officiated at the graduation ceremony of the Reserve Police Recruit Intake 1 of 2021.

The members of the intake consisted mainly of officers of various government organizations operating within the COVID-19 National Control Centre.

After seven rigorous weeks of intensive training, both physical and theory, only 19 managed to successfully complete the course and passed out as Reserve Members of the Constabulary.

Among them was Dr Daoni Esorom, the Deputy Controller of the PNG National Pandemic Response.

Aired Sunday, 3rd April 2022.
